Company Overview: Picoso is considered a Mexican restaurant franchisee that has many operating locations which are in business on the Sunshine Coast. The main business operations of the restaurant include the eat-in mode where the people are allowed to have a meal in the traditional style. In addition, their business also includes the presence of a website which is used to get orders from customers. These orders will then be placed to order takeout from the restaurant where the people have to come down to the take their meal. This analysis of the report is to include a web based presence for integrating the delivery services that will facilitate the audiences to order food without the need of going to the restaurant. This will also help the restaurant to reach their intended goals and diversify the profits made. In addition, this will also help the restaurant to get their desired level of brand engagement in the market which will allow the restaurant to get a higher level among the competitors. Topic 1 Benefits of mobile applications over desktop applications: This section is used to describe the various benefits of the mobile applications as compared to the web based entities. The first advantage is the faster working of the mobile applications. It is usually considered that the mobile applications work at a much higher speed than the traditional web-based system. As the data that is used for processing is stored in the local devices in case of mobile applications, the speed of fetching the data is much faster as compared to both the mobile sites and the desktop sites where the data is stored in the web server (Al-Jabri and Sohail 2012). The dependency of network speed is also an issue which makes the mobile applications a most viable choice. In addition, the websites uses the JavaScript or flash player to allow some integrations to work properly whereas the mobile application are based on the use of frameworks which makes it a more faster and efficient process of business operations for both a company and their audiences. The second advantage is the use of personalized preferences. A website uses cookies which can be come at a public dismay because most people may have anti-virus programs to block such programs. In cases of mobile application, the searches and preferences are always used to filter high quality contents and the users are always shown products based on their activities (Corral, Janes and Remencius 2012). Thus, this helps in meeting the demands of the customers and makes more conversions for the concerned products. The third advantage for using a mobile application for business is that it does not need constant network access to engage on some pages. For example, an application for restaurants can have some of their product pages load without the need for much connectivity. This reduces the need for the users to stay connected to the internet for a long time as in case for a website based system. This also increases the engagement needed and thus drives more sales for a business. The fourth advantage for a successful mobile application integration is the use of own device features. The first feature of the application is the user signup pages. This page is displayed before giving access to the application. Mainly, this page is used to get leads and apply for more sales. The page has two divisions where one part is the signup for new customers and the other part is the login for existing users. After giving email and passwords to the form provided, the users are provided access to the system. The next part is the home page features. The features of the home page include showcasing the designs of the restaurants which highlights the brand engagement in the market. The presence of a new designs and a great user interface is necessary for getting the required engagements from the customers. The home page also displays a list of the best offers to the customers based on their preferences. This will make more sales and let Picoso lead the market competition. In addition, the customers can also search for food orders depending on their needs (Palmieri, Singh and Cicchetti 2012). Moreover, the food icons will show a rating out of 5 on top of it. This rating will be based on user reviews that are very important for succeeding in the digital market. The next page in the front-end user interface is the payment options. The first option is the presence of a cart where customers can store their orders before proceeding for checkout. They can even add or remove orders from the cart allowing the options of more flexibility. The final orders are then placed and the payment is made by the customers to be delivered at their doorsteps. The fourth page is for setting the personal details of the users. This section is used to change the name, address, pin code or email id. This option is mainly used for the new as well as the existing customers (Hao et al. 2013). The new customers update their details so that the orders can be delivered at their house. The existing customers apply updates their details in case they have changed their residential address. The last feature is the presence of notifications from the application. This feature is to update the customer regarding any new changes or proposals. Topic 3 Alternatives to in-house development: This section discusses the presence of application of any alternative method of application development as opposed to the in-house development method. A mobile application has to be programmed and developed before commencing with the business activities.
